Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of Sept. 10, 2018

ARCHITECTURE | DESIGN

Muhammad Moussa has been promoted to design director —MENA at OBM International. He’ll work with the firm’s Middle East and North Africa projects. Moussa was previously associate, senior designer at the Coral Gables-based firm.

EDUCATION

Terry Mularkey has been named chief of staff at Nova Southeastern University, a newly created position. He was executive director for development and community relations at NSU. Mularkey, who was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, is a graduate of Mercer University and has a master’s in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle.

HOSPITALITY

Farzanah Johnson has been named director of national accounts at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. She was previously senior sales manager and business development manager at Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown. Johnson has a bachelor’s in business management and marketing from Florida State University.

LAW

Lorna E. Brown-Burton has joined Lubell Rosen as a partner and will be based in Fort Lauderdale. She was managing partner at Brown-Burton & DeMicco. Brown-Burton has a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing from the University of Florida and a J.D. from NSU.

Eddie Raychaudhuri has been named chief legal project management and pricing officer at Berger Singerman. He was previously chief pricing officer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York. Raychaudhuri has a bachelor’s from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from American University.

MARKETING

Lana F. Bernstein has been named vice president of marketing for the U.S. boat shows of Informa Exhibitions. She’ll lead marketing initiatives for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and the Miami Yacht Show, among others. She was previously vice president of public relations and marketing for Modern Luxury Media. Bernstein has a bachelor’s in marketing from George Washington University.

REAL ESTATE | COMMERCIAL

Brett Chetek has been named senior managing director at Marcus & Millichap. He was previously a senior vice president investments at the firm.

David B. Diaz has been promoted to vice president of projects team from vice president, projects, at JLL, and he will be market team lead for South Florida. Diaz has a bachelor’s in mass communications, and a master’s in architecture, from Florida International University.

Name: Dr. Govindarajan Narayanan

New position: He has joined the clinical teams at two of Baptist Health South Florida’s service lines: Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute, and Miami Cancer Institute, where he has been named chief of interventional oncology.

From: The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. There, he was the founding chair of the Department of Interventional Radiology and was professor of interventional radiology and of urology.

About: His primary clinical research interests include pancreatic, liver and colon cancer. He has published many articles in medical journals.

Education: Dr. Narayanan has a medical degree from Madras Medical College and has had residency training in nuclear medicine at Methodist Hospital of Brooklyn and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, as well as a residency in diagnostic radiology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey. His fellowship years encompassed training in interventional radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina and Stony Brook University Hospital in New York.
