Senior-level hires and promotions in South Florida for the week of July 30, 2018
Accounting
At Kaufman Rossin, three executives have been promoted:
▪ Meredith Tucker has been named principal, entrepreneurial services. She was senior manager, entrepreneurial services.
▪ Adrian Alfonso has been named principal, tax. He was director, tax.
▪ Byron Brown is principal, forensic, advisory and valuation services. He was senior manager, forensic, advisory and valuation services.
Real Estate
At Terranova, three senior executives based in Miami Beach were promoted:
▪ Mindy McIlroy is president. She was executive vice president.
▪ Josh Gelfman is vice president of development. He was previously director of development.
▪ Ozzie Dominguez is vice president of property management. Most recently, he was general manager.
Construction
Daimon Pérez has been promoted to director of environmental, health and safety for Florida building operations at Skanska. Most recently, he was assistant EHS director fo Skanska on projects across the Florida market. Perez has a bachelor’s in business administration and an MBA from the Universidad del Turabo in Puerto Rico.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
Alon Ozer has been named chief investment officer at Omnia Family Wealth in Aventura. He was chief investment officer of the Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
Law
Sarah Clasby Engel is founding partner of The Engel Firm in Coconut Grove. The newly founded firm’s core practice will focus on mediation and litigation. She was previously a founding partner at Harke Clasby & Bushman. Engel has a bachelor’s in English from Boston College and a J.D. from the University of Miami.
Marketing/communications
Melissa Richter Bartolini has been promoted to senior vice president and chief strategy officer at República. She has a bachelor’s in economics from Davidson College. She was formerly head of strategy.
Nonprofits
At The Everglades Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting and restoring America’s Everglades:
▪ Katherine Caskey has been named director of leadership giving – South Florida/The Keys. She most recently was interim chief development officer of The Greater Marco Family YMCA.
▪ Owen Baillie has been named director of leadership giving – Miami-Dade County. He was director of development for SEED School of Miami.

New position: Executive vice president and chief of staff of City National Bank
From: Managing director of Sandler O’Neill & Partners
About: At Sandler O’Neill, he provided advice to City National Bank on strategic and tactical issues. He also has worked at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods as a managing director and founded the The CRA Qualified Investment Fund to help banks with their community investments. Today, the fund has $2 billion in assets under management, serving about 400 financial institutions across the country.
Also: Solomon has served on the board of directors and executive committee of the United Way of Broward County, where he chaired the Alexis de Tocqueville Society. He is also a director with the South Florida Banking Institute and a member of the Jackson Health Foundation Golden Angel Society.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida.
