The Miami Hurricanes were idle last week, but they still had movement in the AP top 25 poll because of the performances of teams around them in the standings.

Miami checked in at No. 11 in the latest edition of the AP poll released on Sunday, up one spot from the No. 12 ranking the Hurricanes had last week. The Hurricanes are No. 9 in the College Football Playoff rankings, which will determine the 12-team playoff field. The latest CFP rankings will be unveiled on Tuesday.

A pair of top-10 teams lost on Saturday, with then-No. 7 BYU falling to unranked Kansas and then-No. 6 Tennessee losing to then-No. 11 Georgia.

BYU fell seven spots to No. 14 because of its loss, which pushed Miami up in the poll as a result. Tennessee fell four spots to No. 10, staying one spot ahead of the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes are 9-1 this season, including 5-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. They still have the inside track to make it to the ACC Championship Game if they win their final two games of the season.

The Hurricanes began the season ranked No. 19. They moved up to No. 12 after Week 1, No. 10 after Week 2, No. 8 after Week 3 and No. 7 after Week 4 before falling to No. 8 after Week 5. UM then moved up to No. 6 after Week 6 and stayed there for two weeks before being bumped up to No. 5 after Week 9 and then up again to No. 4 after Week 10 before falling to No. 12 after Week 11 following its first loss of the season to Georgia Tech.

The Hurricanes host Wake Forest at noon Saturday and then close their season on the road against Syracuse on Nov. 30.
