Where the Miami Hurricanes are ranked in AP top 25 poll to start 2024 season

The Miami Hurricanes will begin the 2024 season ranked as one of the top teams in the country.

The Hurricanes are the No. 19 team in the Associated Press’ preseason top 25 poll, which was unveiled Monday.

This marks the third time in the past four years Miami begins the season ranked in the top 25. The Hurricanes opened the 2021 season at No. 14 and the 2022 season at No. 16. They were not ranked to begin the 2023 season but did get up to No. 17 after starting 4-0 before going 3-5 in conference play and ultimately finishing the season 7-6.

The Hurricanes also checked in at No. 19. in the first coaches poll of the season, which was released last week.

Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and Alabama are the top five teams in the poll. Georgia received 46 of 62 first-place votes, Ohio State 15 and Oregon one.

Four ACC teams overall are in the preseason top 25, with Florida State (No. 10), Clemson (No. 14) and NC State (No. 24) joining Miami. Louisville was the top team to miss the cut, while Virginia Tech and SMU also received votes.

FSU is the only team on Miami’s schedule that is ranked in the preseason poll.
