The Miami Dolphins’ decision to send multiple draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a playmaker in wide receiver Tyreek Hill improved their odds as Super Bowl contenders.
Caesars Sportsbook in Las Vegas now lists the Dolphins at 50-1 to win this year’s Super Bowl compared to the 70-1 odds prior to the reported Hill trade.
And just reaching the Super Bowl as AFC champions is listed at 25-1 with Caesars, which is up from 35-1 before the trade. Odds to win the division are also improved, according to Caesars’ odds.
The movement isn’t just for Hill’s trade, but also follows the Dolphins getting elite offensive tackle Terron Alexander via free agency on Tuesday.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, saw their odds drop as Super Bowl champions from 8.5-1 to 9-1 and AFC champs from 4-1 to 5-1.
The Dolphins have not been in the playoffs since 2016, have not won a playoff game since 2000, last appeared in the Super Bowl in 1984 and last won the Super Bowl in 1973.
