The latest shooting on Interstate 95 in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area sent a driver to the hospital and put 15 bullet holes into his Mercedes SUV on Monday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The gunshot wound left the driver with what FHP termed “non-life threatening injuries.” All 15 bullet holes in the car were on the driver’s side, FHP said.
Troopers said they found the SUV crashed into a tree off the right side grassy shoulder of the southbound lanes near U.S. 441 after 4:15 a.m. No one was with the Mercedes, but the driver turned up at Jackson North with a gunshot wound shortly after.
No information has been released on the shooter.
