Film chronicles canal builders at Haiti’s Massacre River
I had the pleasure of watching Samuel Dameus’ latest film, “The Heroes of the Massacre River,” which tells a vital story of Haitian people coming together to build the Ouanaminthe canal off a river that holds a bitter history between Haiti and its neighbor, the Dominican Republic.
Dameus seamlessly weaves in the contentious history of the river while displaying the proud people of Haiti and their resiliency. The nearly 90-minute film is a gripping story of what can happen when a community comes together.
The film is being screened throughout Florida, and I encourage you to catch it, if you can, or purchase the film here.
