A superheroine visited the University of Miami on Wednesday.

Led in conversation by Achieve Miami Founder Leslie Miller Saiontz, former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter headlined United Way Miami’s 21st annual Women United breakfast event. The event celebrated female members who, “build a stronger Miami through volunteerism, advocacy and support of United Way,” according to a prepared statement from the nonprofit.

Only United Way Women United members could attend the event. Members pay at least $1,000 a year to qualify for membership to a group that focuses on issues of education, financial stability and health.

Carter is best known for her starring role as Diana Prince in the 1970s in the action television series Wonder Woman.

The breakfast event Wednesday at the university’s Watsco Center arena drew over 800 attendees, including Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and U.S. Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez.

Since last year, Carter, who was crowed Miss World USA in 1972, has called Miami home. The actress and singer paid $15 million for a condo at the oceanfront Four Seasons Residences at the Surf Club in Surfside. Carter keeps a busy schedule. In October, she spoke at Miami Beach’s Bass Museum to celebrate National Wonder Woman Day.
