A gun holster has been recalled. It can accidentally turn off a pistol’s safety switch

A gun holster’s design aims to hold the firearm, not get it set to fire. That’s why on Thursday, Browning recalled 1,265 of its Leather Pistol Holsters, Multi-Angle Thumb Break.

The exact problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The holster design can change the position of the safety switch on the firearm without the user knowing it. When this occurs, if the trigger is accidentally pulled, the firearm could fire unexpectedly, posing an injury hazard to the user and bystanders.”

Browning says it has heard of the safety switch being changed once, but without injury.
