‘Relationships, love, sexuality’: Watch the trailer for ‘Red Table Talk: The Estefans’
OK, we are officially excited.
The trailer for “Red Table Talk: The Estefans” dropped on Facebook Watch.
We got just enough of a sneak peek to keep our eyes peeled for this show, a spin-off of the tell-all, confessional-styled series created and hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith and fam.
For starters, the show is set in Miami, and we know the players well: Gloria Estefan; her singer daughter Emily; and her niece in law, “El Gordo y La Flaca” host Lili, whose uncle Emilio is Gloria’s hubby of 41 years.
Phew. That’s a lot of Estefans in one sentence.
We are hoping that, like the Smith version, this is a no-holds-barred format, with no matter too personal or taboo. Remember when Will confided about about his colon? Or got publicly humiliated by Jada’s “entanglement” with a younger guy?
“It’s time to take the table to a whole new place,” says Emily, who announced she had a serious girlfriend, Gemeny Hernandez, in 2017. The women are reportedly still together and it will be interesting to see if Hernandez takes a seat at some point.
Guests seen in the trailer include “Fast & Furious” actress Michelle Rodriguez; “Reina de la Sur” star Kate Castillo; and of course, Emilio, who is also producer.
We hope papi can handle all the realness.
“We’re talking about relationships, love, sexuality,” Emily says in the clip, at one point dabbing her eyes.
If nothing else, we definitely think this will be entertaining in a close-to-home kinda way. (Will Lili dish about her divorce? That’s what the Red Table is for.)
“Three different women, three different generations,” Gloria says in the trailer. “We’re loud, we’re proud, let’s go.”
Done, dale. Oct. 7: Save the date.
