Gloria Estefan will make Miami cry, laugh and think with her new Red Table Talk show
It’s a family affair, Miami style.
Gloria Estefan announced Wednesday at NATPE in Miami Beach that she will be doing her own version of the hit Facebook Watch series, “Red Table Talk.”
The flagship original series, known for its brutal honesty, private revelations and oh so relatable ugly-cry fests, is hosted by actress Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow Smith and mother Adrienne Banfield Norris.
Memorable shows included a recent appearance by Demi Moore and her daughters Rumer and Talula Willis, who got frank about their famous mom’s alcoholism and how it almost killed their relationship. Dad Will Smith also came to the table, and told the world about his constipation problem (good thing he had that colonoscopy in Miami).
The spin-off will feature Mama Estefan, along with her singer-daughter Emily and niece in law, “El Gordo y La Flaca” star Lili Estefan, seated together.
The former Miami Sound Machine singer posted a pic of her fam with Smith on Insta, with the caption, “Get ready for us!”
In a statement Estefan said she is “incredibly excited to carry the ‘Red Table Talk’ torch.”
The three ladies plan to continue a similar format as the original show. In other words, it’s going to get really raw and personal.
“Jada and I have spoken about this a lot and feel my daughter, niece and I can tackle issues important to us and our fans with a new and fresh voice,” Estefan said. “Jada has done this incredibly and continues to do with her family in their candid, intimate and groundbreaking conversations at the iconic Red Table.”
We fully expect an occasional guest appearance from hubby Emilio Estefan and maybe Emily Estefan’s girlfriend Gemeny Hernandez. Who knows? Maybe Lili’s ex hubby will show up, too?
Whoever pops in, we seriously can’t wait.
A premiere date was not announced, but Smith said sometime later this year.
“Coming at you 2020!” she tweeted.
