NFL Draft Day 3 recap: Dolphins make 7 picks, 3 Hurricanes drafted on final day
The final day of the 2026 NFL Draft has come and gone — and the Miami Dolphins were quite busy as first-year general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan rounds out his inaugural draft class.
Day 3 of the draft, which consisted of Rounds 4-7, saw the Dolphins make seven total selections to bring Miami’s haul to 13 draftees.
But it was more than just the Dolphins on this final day.
Three more Miami Hurricanes were selected on Saturday to bring the school’s total up to nine for this draft cycle.

Dolphins close their draft with edge rusher
With their 13th and final selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins picked Iowa edge rusher Max Llewellyn.
Llewellyn played 43 games for the Hawkeyes, starting all 13 he played as a senior. He totaled 64 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 10 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his college career.
Dolphins add to offensive line in sixth round
With their penultimate selection, the Dolphins drafted Texas Longhorns offensive lineman DJ Campbell.
That’s their third selection from the University of Texas today and their fifth overall from a Texas school.
Hurricanes’ CJ Daniels to Rams
CJ Daniels made his share of highlight-reel catches and showcased his leadership abilities during his one season with the Miami Hurricanes.
The wide receiver will now get the chance to put those on display in the NFL.
The Los Angeles Rams drafted Daniels in the sixth round with the No. 197 overall pick on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Hurricanes’ Anez Cooper to the Jets
Anez Cooper was one of Mario Cristobal’s first signees with the Miami Hurricanes. The offensive lineman proved his worth for four years, helping bring the program back to national relevance and back into a title contender.
Now, he is getting his chance in the NFL.
The New York Jets drafted Cooper in the sixth round with the No. 188 overall pick on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Dolphins take two pass catchers within four picks
After going with slot receiver Kevin Coleman with the No. 177 pick, the Miami Dolphins went and got another pass catcher with the No. 180 pick in Mississippi State tight end Seydou Traroe.
Traroe played his final two seasons at Mississippi State and caught 69 passes for 728 yards and six touchdowns with the Bulldogs.
He’s the first draft pick from the NFL Academy.
Traroe joins Ohio State’s Will Kacmarek as tight ends drafted by the Dolphins in this class.
Miami is on the clock next with pick No. 200.
Miami Dolphins add third receiver of draft with second fifth-round pick
The Dolphins drafted Missouri wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. with the No. 177 overall pick, their second of three fifth-round selections.
He’s the third wide receiver Miami has selected after drafting Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell in the third round on Friday.
Coleman led Missouri with 66 catches and 732 receiving yards in 2025. He played at a different school every season he was in college, starting at Jackson State before going to Louisville, then Mississippi State and then finally Missouri.
The Dolphins will be back up in short order. They’re on the clock again with pick No. 180.
Deerfield Beach’s Hezekiah Masses to Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders selected California Golden Bears cornerback and Deerfield Beach High alumnus Hezekiah Masses with the 175th overall pick in the fifth round on Saturday.
Masses, who started his career at FIU, was a second-team All-American by multiple outlets as a senior in 2025 after recording 47 tackles, five interceptions and 13 pass breakups.
Dolphins use first fifth-round pick on safety
For the second time today, the Dolphins have selected a Texas Longhorn.
With the No. 158 overall pick, Miami picked Texas defensive back Michael Taaffe.
Taaffee, a safety, was first-team All-SEC in 2025 after logging 70 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and a pass breakup over 10 games (he missed twi with a broken thumb). He began his career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship at the end of his redshirt freshman season.
Miami’s next pick is at No. 177.
Dolphins trade back
The Dolphins made a pair of pick swaps with the Carolina Panthers, sending picks Nos. 151 and 227 to Carolina in exchange for picks Nos. 158 and 200.
The rest of Miami’s draft picks are now as follows: Nos. 158, 177 and 180 in the fifth round; No. 200 in the sixth round; and No. 238 in the seventh round.
Dolphins go defense again with second fourth-round pick
The Miami Dolphins drafted Pittsburgh versatile defender Kyle Louis with the No. 138 overall pick, their second selection of the fourth round.
Louis rose to prominence over the past two seasons at Pittsburgh, recording 182 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, six interceptions and 12 defended passes in that stretch. He was an Associated Press first-team All-American last season.
Miami’s next pick is at No. 151.

With the No. 130 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Texas edge rusher Trey Moore.
Moore logged 71 total tackles with 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks over the past two seasons with the Longhorns. He started his college career at UTSA.
Miami’s next pick is at No. 138.
South Broward’s Travis Burke selected
Offensive lineman Travis Burke, a Hollywood South Broward alumnus who finished his college career at Memphis after stops at FIU and Gardner-Webb, was selected No. 117 overall by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Hurricanes’ Keionte Scott to the Bucs in fourth round
In one season with the Miami Hurricanes, Keionte Scott went from being an uncertainty to being arguably one of the most important pieces to UM’s defense on its run to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
The defensive back’s efforts were also noticed in his draft stock rise.
On Saturday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Scott in the fourth round with the No. 116 overall pick on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Scott is the second Hurricanes player selected by Tampa Bay this draft after the Buccaneers also took edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. with the No. 15 overall pick on Thursday.
