Dolphins select Texas edge Trey Moore in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft
The Miami Dolphins selected Texas edge rusher Trey Moore with the 130th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
This was their first of two (No. 130 and 138) selections in the fourth round.
A two-year starter at Texas after transferring from Texas - San Antonio, the 23-year-old racked up 30.5 sacks and 50 tackles for loss across his four seasons. His best season came during 2023 when he won American Athletic Conference defensive player of the year, breaking a school record for tackles for loss (18) and sacks (14).
At roughly 6-foot-2-inches and 245 pounds, Moore’s position at the next level remains a bit unclear. His size and arm length — 31 5/8 inches — aren’t ideal for an edge rusher, yet he showed flashes as an off-ball linebacker.
“He’s aligned in different spots,” Dolphins assistant general manager Kyle Smith said, praising Moore’s “versatility” and calling him a “pressure player.” “He’s played stacked. He’s played on the edge.”
With the Dolphins in need of edge rushers after cutting Bradley Chubb, Moore could potentially compete for playing time alongside Chop Robinson, Josh Uche, David Ojabo and Robert Beal Jr.
