Hialeah-Miami Lakes QB Isiah Small comes up big late against Goleman
Quarterback Isiah Small helped produce two fourth-quarter touchdowns as Hialeah-Miami Lakes (4-5, 3-3) rallied to beat Goleman (3-7, 2-4), 41-34, in a District 16-7A game at Ted Hendricks Stadium.
Neither team punted in a run-dominated game that featured just four passes, two of them for touchdowns — one by each team.
Goleman led 34-28 after a 34-yard, fourth-quarter run by senior Jamal McIntyre — his fourth touchdown of the game.
But Small, on his only completion, hit Malik Shannon on a 53-yard pass play, leading to a 35-34 lead HML never relinquished.
Goleman had one more chance, but McIntyre fumbled, allowing HML to kill the final seconds of the game.
