Cedrick Wright, Robert Burns lead Gulliver’s attack on Monsignor Pace

Gulliver Prep shut out Monsignor Pace 22-0 behind a strong defense Friday at Jones Field.

The Raiders (5-4, 3-1) broke a close game after defensive back Cedrick Wright intercepted a Spartan pass and ran it back 70 yards for a touchdown. Gulliver’s defense would later pin a struggling Pace’s offense back into their end zone where defensive end Joseph Jackson recorded a safety.

Pace (2-7, 0-3) was led by junior quarterback Eric Walker, who threw for 239 passing yards, but threw three interceptions.

In the fourth, Gulliver’s Robert Burns ran 34 yards for a score, which put the game out of reach.
