North Miami (7-1, 4-0) clinched the District 13-8A championship with a commanding 45-14 win against Ronald Reagan (5-3, 2-2) at Milander Park. The Pioneers extended their winning streak to seven games and won their second district championship in a row.
“We visualized this victory,” said North Miami coach Ed Sullivan. “The most important thing is to play our football game. Our ultimate goal is Orlando.”
North Miami’s offense clicked was led by quarterback Hilton Joseph’s 205 yards and four touchdown passes and running back Alex Pierre’s 151 rushing yards with a score. Pierre had just three carries in the game.
Ronald Reagan scored first on a Shawn Curtis’ 9-yard run on the opening drive. But North Miami scored 45 unanswered points beginning with an 83-yard run by Pierre.
