Booker T. Washington Tornadoes notch 35th win a row to improve to 9-0

No. 1 Booker T. Washington won its 35th consecutive game with a 28-14 victory against No. 14 Norland at North Miami Stadium.

The Tornadoes (9-0) built a 28-0 halftime lead, but the Vikings (3-4) made second half defensive adjustments to keep the nation’s No. 3-ranked team out of the end zone.

Norland’s Rodrick Robinson and Chavis Wright scored on runs of 9 and 11 yards in the last 6:14 to get cut the Tornadoes lead in half. The Tornadoes defense squashed any late heroics for the Vikings.

Darrius Scott hauled in a 58-yard reception from Maurice Alexander on the Tornadoes’ first play to set up Alexander’s 3-yard TD run.
