Roshard Phillips leads Southridge football to upset of South Dade
Southridge pulled off an upset, defeating South Dade by controlling the time of possession with its running game, which was led by Roshard Phillips.
Phillips rushed for three touchdowns and 94 yards.
Phillips’ key play was a 5-yard rushing touchdown that was the final score and put things out of reach in the fourth quarter.
Spartans quarterback Shawn Chandler rushed for 116 yard and passed for 82, leading the team in all offensive categories.
South Dade quarterback PJ Coats completed 12 for 19 passes for 195 yards. Coats went 7 for 7 to start the second half in his attempt to mount a comeback.
