Miami Beach-Columbus football game rescheduled

The Miami Beach-Columbus football game was postponed because of recurring lightning within 10miles of Flamingo Park.

The game was tentatively rescheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Columbus.

After Miami Beach officials informed coaches Aaron Harris and Chris Merritt that lightning had struck approximately three miles away, both coaches agreed to reschedule for Saturday.

Miami Beach will lose home-field advantage because of the rescheduling.

On Friday, both schools’ athletic directors will either confirm the 10 a.m. Saturday start or agree upon another time.
