Braddock, Belen will have to wait to settle score

Braddock was making upset noise Thursday afternoon when Mother Nature interrupted the proceedings.

The host Bulldogs, after playing an inspired first half, were leading Belen Jesuit in a District 15-8A game 13-7 at the start of the second half when the lightning detector went off. After waiting for more than an hour, the game was suspended and will be resumed at 3 p.m. Monday.

Braddock took the lead just 35 seconds before halftime when quarterback Angel Alvarez found Chris Linares for a 75-yard touchdown pass to snap a 7-7 tie. The Wolverines (3-1, 1-0) had tied it just moments earlier on a 10-yard Jose Llanes run.
