Michael Harris helps Monarch roll; playoffs up next

After a disappointing loss last week to Dillard, Monarch (9-1, 6-0) rebounded with a 49-12 blowout over host Coconut Creek (4-6, 2-3) to end the regular season.

Senior quarterback Michael Harris ripped apart the Cougars’ defense in the first half, throwing for 312 yards and three touchdowns on 10-of-18 passing.

Junior receiver Cavin Ridley torched Coconut Creek’s secondary, finishing with 236 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ridley also ran for two touchdowns.

Sophomore Jerry Jeudy ended any chance of an upset by Coconut Creek with a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown to put Monarch up 35-6 on the last play of the first half.
