Herbert Khalil, Brett Israel lead the Douglas Eagles over rival Piper Bengals

Douglas came up with a big performance with a 21-6 win over District 8A-11 rival Piper at Cumber Stadium.

Herbert Khalil ran for 160 yards, 50 of which came in the second quarter on a touchdown that gave the Eagles a 14-0 lead.

Douglas (6-1, 3-1) was also led by quarterback Brett Israel, who passed for 182 yards and a touchdown and ran for 55 yards. He targeted Tate Lehtio, who caught five passes for 90 yards. Nicka Aiello also contributed with a 15-yard touchdown reception.

Piper (2-5, 0-4) was led by Travis Liburd, who rushed for 140 yards and scored the Bengals’ only touchdown on a 30-yard run.
