Blanche Ely Tigers remain in first place in District 14-7A

Blanche Ely (3-4, 2-0) shut out district rival Boyd Anderson 40-0 to win its homecoming game, and remain in first place in District 14-7A.

The Tigers’ defense forced two turnovers and didn’t allow a first down in the first half. The Cobras didn’t cross the 50-yard line until midway through the third quarter.

Boyd Anderson (0-7, 0-2) struggled against Ely’s rotation of running backs as five different Tigers ran for a touchdown. Running back Arthur Forrest led the Tigers with two touchdowns and 81 yards on five carries.

The game was called with 2:25 remaining when the power went out on the field.
