Results are in. South Plantation quarterback voted Miami Herald Player of the Week
South Plantation quarterback Jadyn Glasser was named the Miami Herald High School Player of the week, as voted on by readers in our weekly poll.
Glasser, a junior, ran for four touchdowns and threw for 209 yards and two more touchdowns to lead the Paladins to a 41-6 win over Northeast and their third consecutive win to open the season. It’s the first time South Plantation has started a year 3-0 since 2012, when the Paladins went 9-2 and won a district title before falling in the Class 8A regional quarterfinals.
On the season, Glasser has been involved in all 15 touchdowns produced by South Plantation’s offense. He has thrown for 742 yards and seven touchdowns and has added eight touchdowns on the ground as well.
South Plantation has a bye this week before facing Cooper City on Sept. 23.
Glasser received 47 percent of the vote in the poll, which opened on Sunday afternoon and closed Thursday night. Columbus defensive back Ahmere Foster, North Broward Prep running back Deandre Desinor, Archbishop McCarthy girls’ volleyball outside hitter Celimar Hoyos and Lourdes girls’ cross-country runner Olivia Fraga rounded out this week’s participants.
