The Miami Hurricanes’ perfect start to the season continued with a 26-7 win over the Florida Gators.

And they moved up once again in the AP top-25 poll.

The Hurricanes (4-0) are now the No. 2 team in the country in the latest AP poll, released Sunday afternoon. It’s Miami’s highest ranking in the poll since 2017.

UM received seven of 66 first-place votes.

Miami began the season ranked No. 10, moved up to No. 5 after its season-opening win over then-No. 6 Notre Dame and then inched up to No. 4 two weeks later following a win over then-No. 18 USF.

Now, the Hurricanes trail just one team.

The Ohio State Buckeyes remain the top team, followed by Miami, the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions, No. 4 LSU Tigers and No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs. The Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma Sooners, FSU Seminoles, Texas A&M Aggies and Texas Longhorns round out the top 10.

There were only two upsets this week, with Indiana thrashing Illinois 63-10 and Texas Tech knocking off Utah 34-10. Indiana jumped to No. 11 and Texas Tech to No. 12, while Illinois fell to No. 23 and Utah is out of the poll.

The Hurricanes are on bye next week before heading to Tallahassee to play Florida State on Oct. 4 in what would be a top-10 matchup if FSU wins on Friday at Virginia to remain undefeated.
