The Miami Hurricanes left no doubt on Saturday night.

They were not going to be the USF Bulls’ latest victim.

The fifth-ranked Hurricanes used an all-around effort to make quick work of the No. 18 Bulls in a 49-12 win at Hard Rock Stadium in front of an announced crowd of 66,591.

Miami is now 3-0 to start the season, with ranked wins over then-No. 6 Notre Dame and now USF. The Bulls, who opened the season with a pair of ranked wins over Boise State and Florida, fall to 2-1.

Read the instant recap here.

Another Fletcher touchdown

Mark Fletcher Jr. does it again.

His 13-yard rushing touchdown with 35 seconds left in the third quarter puts Miami up 35-6 over USF. He’s up to 99 yards and two TDs on 11 carries. Also has 25 receiving yards on two catches.

Teams exchange turnovers

Carson Beck threw his second interception of the game, but USF promptly gave the ball back on a Byrum Brown fumble.

The Bulls have 0 points off Miami’s two turnovers. The Hurricanes have 7 points off USF’s two turnovers.

Hurricanes lead big at halftime

No. 5 Miami leads No. 18 USF 28-6 at halftime.

The Hurricanes had 316 yards of offense in the first half and averaged 8.3 yards per play. USF had 133 yards and averaged 4.3 yards per play.

It’s been a dominant performance so far for the Hurricanes. Now, they need to keep that up for the next 30 minutes of game action.

An amazing catch ... and then an interception

CJ Daniels made another phenomenal grab, hauling in a 27-yard pass from Carson Beck while being interfered.

One play later, Beck threw his first interception of the season on a play in which he was pressured by USF’s Mac Harris.

Carson Beck rushing touchdown

Miami caps a 6-play scoring drive with back-to-back designed runs for quarterback Carson Beck, the latter of which went for a 2-yard touchdown.

Prior to that, Mark Fletcher Jr. converted on a fourth and 1 to keep the drive alive.

It’s 28-6 Miami over USF with 2:33 left in the first half.

Hurricanes get an interception

Freshman Bryce Fitzgerald gets his second interception in as many games to set Miami up with great field position.

Mark Fletcher touchdown extends Miami’s lead

Mark Fletcher Jr. has made his presence known. He followed a 20-yard catch-and-run with a 38-yard rushing touchdown on back-to-back plays.

It’s 21-6 Miami over USF with 10:05 left in 2Q.

Fletcher has 95 all-purpose yards already today (70 rushing yards on 6 carries, 25 receiving yards on 2 catches)

Hurricanes hold Bulls to field goal

The Bulls got to the UM 10 yard line a few plays after play resumed, highlighted by a 53-yard pass from Byrum Brown to Chas Nimrod, but Miami’s defense holds.

USF settled for a 28-yard field goal.

It’s 14-6 Miami over USF with 11:16 left in the second quarter.

Game resumes

The game resumed at 7:06 p.m. after a one hour and 41 minute delay.

Weather delay

The No. 5 Miami Hurricanes’ home game against the No. 18 USF Bulls on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium has been delayed in the second quarter due to lightning in the area.

The delay started at 5:25 p.m., with 13:45 left in the second quarter and Miami up 14-3 on USF.

Bulls get on the board

USF gets on the board with a 45-yard field goal from Nico Gramatica.

It’s 14-3 UM over USF with 26 seconds left in the first quarter.

Josh Moore scores again

Hello, Josh Moore.

The freshman now has two touchdowns in the first quarter, the latest a 39-yard grab while USF’s Jona Duclona was in coverage.

It’s 14-0 Miami over USF with 2:58 left in the first quarter.

Per a search on Stathead, Moore is the first UM true freshman with multiple TD catches in a game since Larry Hodges on Sept. 14, 2019 against Bethune-Cookman.

The first true freshman to do so vs an FBS team since Stacy Coley, who did it twice in 2013 (vs Pitt and ... USF)

Miami defense with a stop on first drive

The Hurricanes defense gets a stop on USF’s opening drive.

Sophomore OJ Frederique had good coverage on a deep ball down the left sideline against the Bulls’ Chas Nimrod on third down to force the USF punt.

Hurricanes score on opening drive

Miami marches down the field on its opening drive, with Carson Beck’s 8-yard pass to freshman and former West Broward standout Josh Moore resulting in a touchdown. That was Moore’s first touchdown.

Beck went 5 for 5 for 60 yards on the drive that went 75 yards on 9 plays. He also moved the chains on a designed quarterback run on third and 3 midway through the drive.

It’s 7-0 Miami over USF with 9:34 left in the first quarter.

Pregame injury updates

It appears that the Miami Hurricanes will get some, but not all, of their reinforcements back this weekend.

Two key sophomores in running back Jordan Lyle and defensive lineman Armondo Blount were full participants in warmups.

A third in wide receiver Joshisa “JoJo” Trader was not spotted on the field pregame.

GameDay with high praise for UM

The fifth-ranked Miami Hurricanes on Saturday are looking to avoid being the third consecutive team to be upset by the No. 18 USF Bulls (4:30 p.m., the CW).

Nick Saban, the legendary Alabama Crimson Tide coach turned ESPN analyst, likes Miami’s chances of taking the win at home and ending USF’s early Cinderella run to the 2025 season.

Speaking on College GameDay from Knoxville, Tennessee, where the No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers are hosting the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs, Saban made his thoughts on the matchup known. This includes how he likes what Miami has done so far in Year 4 under coach Mario Cristobal through the first two weeks of the season — with an upset win over then-No. 6 Notre Dame and a rout of FCS-level Bethune-Cookman.

“The Bulls aren’t going to sneak up on anybody else,” Saban said, “but I do like this Miami team. I think their defense is a lot better. [Quarterback] Carson Beck is doing an outstanding job. They’re physical. They can run the ball. They have good offensive line. I really like this Miami team. I think Mario has done a really good job.”
