“Just disappointed for him, man,” Cristobal said at his weekly press conference ahead of No. 5 Miami’s home game against No. 18 USF on Saturday. “That guy’s got an unbelievable future, tremendous upside. He is physical. He is strong. He loves football. He makes his mistakes like anybody else. We were looking forward to playing him a bunch. He got banged up a few weeks ago. Really tried to come back and work out. Finally, that decision was made that we’ve gotta start getting ready for the rest of his career.”

Lowe who was the No. 75 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 according to the 247Sports composite ranking, made a major impression on UM throughout spring and fall practices heading into the season. The edge rusher is big at 6-5 and 225 pounds and is holding his own against Miami’s offensive line during practice.

“He’s violent and has a high motor and he’s physical,” veteran edge rusher Akheem Mesidor said in the spring. “He’s a huge specimen, strong, ripped, tall. But effort and motor is what makes him stand out.”

Added fellow veteran edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr.: “He plays with a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of tenacity. He’s always around the ball, he’s always making plays. He’s going to be a great player.”
