The Miami Hurricanes have an unexpected top-25 matchup on deck at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami remained at No. 5 in the latest AP poll, released Sunday afternoon, following its 45-3 rout of Bethune-Cookman.

And its upcoming opponent in the USF Bulls are now ranked for the first time since a three-week stretch in October 2021 following a stellar start to the season with wins over the then-No. 25 Boise State Broncos and then-No. 13 Florida Gators to begin 2025. USF entered the poll at No. 18.

It marks the first time in eight meetings that Miami and USF are both ranked at the time they play. Kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., with the game televised on the CW.

Both teams are 2-0, with Miami holding a 27-24 win over Notre Dame and the blowout over Bethune-Cookman. USF beat Boise State 34-7 at home and Florida 18-16 on the road.

The Gators, who the Hurricanes face the following week on Sept. 20, fell out of the poll completely.

The Florida State Seminoles, off to a 2-0 start after following up their upset win over Alabama with a 77-3 thrashing of East Texas A&M, are No. 10.

The Ohio State Buckeyes remained as the No. 1 team. The Penn State Nittany Lions, LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks and Hurricanes round out the top five.

Arizona State and SMU both fell out of the poll after losses to Mississippi State and Baylor, respectively. Auburn and Missouri entered at Nos. 24 and 25.
