The No. 5 Miami Hurricanes easily handled the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 45-3 on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Here are five notable stats from the victory.

73.4: The Hurricanes scored on seven of their eight offensive drives against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday — six touchdowns and a field goal. And they did it without really having any short fields. Miami averaged 73.4 yards per drive on those seven drives that resulted in points and the shortest of them was 68 yards.

They had touchdown drives of 90 yards, 74 yards, 68 yards, 71 yards, 75 yards and 69 yards plus a 67-yard field goal drive to cap the game. They spanned anywhere from five to 13 plays.

It was a methodical, steady approach against an overpowered opponent, even when Miami started trotting its backups into the game midway through the third quarter. While Carson Beck led Miami to touchdown drives on each of his five possessions at the helm of the offense, Emory Williams led the second unit to points on two of his three drives to wrap up the game.

15: Beck opened the game by completing each of his first 15 passes. That’s the most consecutive completions by a Hurricanes player in a single game, breaking Vinny Testeverde’s mark of 14 set in 1986.

Overall, Beck completed 22 of 24 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns against Bethune-Cookman while leading Miami to touchdowns on all five drives he played.

Through two games, Beck has completed 77.8 percent of his passes (42 of 54) for 472 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

14: 14 different players caught passes, including 10 hauling in passes from Beck.

True freshman Malachi Toney once again led the way with six catches for 80 yards, while CJ Daniels hauled in five for 73 yards and both of Miami’s passing touchdowns. Freshman Daylyn Upshaw and sophomore Elija Lofton each had three catches of their own as well.

15: 15 of Miami’s 21 players from its 2025 recruiting class saw playing time on Saturday according to the box score’s participation chart, and several of them made their mark.

In addition to Toney, who has started as Miami’s slot receiver in both games this season, safety Bryce Fitzgerald recorded an interception and running back Girard Pringle Jr. ripped off a 30-yard touchdown run.

The others who saw the field: receivers Upshaw and Josh Moore; tight ends Brock Schott and Luka Gilbert; offensive linemen Seuseu “SJ” Alofaituli and Max Buchanan; defensive linemen Herbert Scroggins III, Donta Simpson Jr. and Mykah Newton; linebacker Kellen Wiley III; and defensive backs Ja’Boree Antoine and Chris Ewald Jr.
