How hot will it get in South Florida? Hot enough for a heat advisory

A heat advisory will be in effect through Wednesday afternoon for inland Miami-Dade, the National Weather Service announced.

Collier County also is included in the advisory, which runs from noon to 6 p.m. The heat index, a combination of temperature and humidity, could surpass 110 degrees in parts covered by the advisory.

“Across the rest of the interior and metro areas, heat indices may reach values between 105F to 109F for an hour or two this afternoon,” the NWS said.

Basic tips for dealing with the heat

Drink plenty of water.

Work outdoors in the morning or early evening.

Wear light clothing.

Wear suncreen.
