Energetic pup shows off ‘wacky’ moves in ‘adorable’ shelter video. He needs a home

A puppy is bursting with energy — and shows off his “wacky” moves at a Florida shelter.

A video posted on social media shows Vincente the pup lying down with his belly against the grass. He does a unique crawl-like motion to propel his body forward.

“We SWEAR he has 4 fully operational legs,” the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Florida wrote Sept. 30 on Facebook. “He just chooses not to use them in favor of doing whatever... this is? A baby crawl? The worm? Scooting? The army crawl? Whatever it is, Vincente’s doing it and it’s adorable.”

Vincente is up for adoption after he arrived at the Lakeland-based shelter Sept. 18. The dog, who was transferred from a rescue group, “just wants to be against a human at all times.”

“From the moment he wakes up til he goes to bed, his tail is wagging constantly,” shelter spokesperson Randa Richter told McClatchy News in an email.

Vincente also is known for being energetic and having a love for snacks. Then, of course, there’s the way he moves around.

“He doesn’t really know how to walk on a leash, so his version is the belly crawl…LOL…..he’s working on it,” Richter wrote.

As of Oct. 1, the crawling pup was still in need of a home. More details about the shelter’s adoption process can be found at spcaflorida.org.

“You can have him do this wacky thing in your yard if you come get him from us,” the SPCA wrote. “He’s about 7 months old and all of 15 pounds and we think he’s a whippet mix, but he’s definitely 100% goofy, happy energy.”

Lakeland is a roughly 35-mile drive east from Tampa.
