A Florida woman was letting her dog out. Along came a creature, doorbell cam shows
A Florida woman had a frightening encounter with a bear outside her Daytona Beach home last week.
Gina Helsel told local news station WESH TV that she was letting her dog out on the front porch Thursday morning when a bear suddenly appeared.
Helsel said the reason she often puts out her dog out front is to prevent cats from gathering.
Then the woman noticed a creature next door at her neighbor’s house — something bigger and more dangerous than cats.
It was a bear, going through the garbage.

“I caught it in the act,” said Helsel, whose Ring doorbell camera captured the minute the bear decided to visit to her place.
The video shows her peeking around the corner and the medium-sized black animal right there. The woman grabs her dog by the leash and scurries inside.
Helsel was fortunate that she escaped unscathed. Early last year, a Florida woman was attacked by a black bear while walking her two dogs in her driveway in DeBary, north of Orlando. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to her head and face.

The woman only identified as Aydee said that the animal chased and tackled her just as she was coming home from the walk.
“I feel lucky to be alive,” she said at the time.
