Two black bears got into an epic battle in a Northwest Florida homeowner’s back yard earlier this month and it was all caught on camera.

Chris, who did not wish to reveal his last name, told the viral video website Storyful about the wild “UFC match” that went on outside his house the evening of July 8 in Mary Esther, about an hour east of Pensacola.

In the dramatic clip, you can first see a mother bear and her three cubs roaming around the lush backyard; suddenly, you hear the blast an air horn that Chris said he used to try to scare them away, to no avail.

Another bear then appears out of nowhere and commences to tangle with the original mama bear as the three cubs run away.

As the beasts brawl on their hind legs, they knock over flower pots, plants and other assorted lawn decorations.

“I spent 20 years in the Army and saw some pretty crazy things, but I never saw anything like that,” Chris told Storyful. “Everyone I showed that video to have all said the same thing: ‘Wow, never seen that before.”

After the nature documentary style showdown, which lasted about five minutes, the mom collected her cubs and safely departed, the homeowner reported.

If you see black bears, which are often attracted to residences due to the smell of garbage and barbecue grills, you are asked to contact the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission at 888-404-3922.
