A duck family was separated by a storm drain in New Jersey, video shows.

Vineland police found a mama duck “excitedly pacing back and forth on top of the storm drain cover,” the department said in a May 22 post on Facebook.

“Officers found 7 ducklings swimming around about 8’ below the road,” the department said.

Video shows the officers reaching in to grab six of the ducklings through the open storm drain cover. All but one reunited with mom and scurried off behind her to the safety of a nearby lake.

But one “feisty” one remained in the deep hole, the department said.

“The last one required some additional equipment to capture it!!” the department said. “They were finally able to locate the rest of the family swimming in a nearby lake, and they were reunited.”

The last little duckling swims toward mom with its six siblings trailing behind her, video shows.
