An injured duck was being toyed with by fellow ducks at a wetlands reserve, so a deputy stepped in to help, Oregon officials said.

A mom and her two daughters called from the Boardman Wetlands Nature Park in the Gladstone/Milwaukie area to report an injured duck being bullied, according to a July 31 Facebook post by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother and her kids also called a local animal hospital to report the duck had an injured foot and wing, deputies said.

The deputy was able to catch the duck and take it to the vet for treatment, according to the post.

Boardman Wetlands Nature Park is about 10 miles southeast of Portland.
