A Georgia lottery player tried their luck on a scratch-off game and won a life-changing prize, officials said.

A Georgia lottery player spent $30 — and won a jackpot with several more zeroes.

The lucky player won $1 million on a 2nd Edition Billionaire Club scratcher bought at the same Blairsville store where another player bought a ticket and hit the jackpot, the Georgia Lottery said in a news release.

Both tickets were sold at the Nottely Food Mart, according to officials.

The jackpot winner won $499,853 on a 100X The Money Quick Win ticket March 19, beating odds of 1 in 240,000 to win the progressive rolling jackpot, McClatchy News reported.

The other player, a Blairsville resident, claimed their winnings March 20, the Georgia Lottery said. They chose the lump sum option of $535,398.06.

Winners in Georgia have 90 days from the expired date to claim prizes on instant games and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, the Georgia Lottery’s website says.

Blairsville is about a 100-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
