Lottery player wins nearly $500,000 jackpot in Georgia. Where was lucky ticket sold?
A Georgia lottery player netted a nearly half-million dollar prize on an instant win game.
The lucky player spent $10 on a 100X The Money Quick Win ticket and hit the jackpot, winning $499,853, the Georgia Lottery said in a March 20 news release.
The winning ticket was sold March 19 at the Nottely Food Mart in Blairsville, near the Georgia-North Carolina line, according to the lottery.
The winner snagged the rolling progressive jackpot, beating odds of 1 in 240,000, the Georgia Lottery said.
It comes on the heels of two other big lottery wins for the Peach State, including two players who each won $820,337 playing Fantasy 5. One winning ticket was sold at a Savannah convenience store and the other in Marietta, officials said.
A Powerball ticket sold at a Kroger in Marietta also won a $100,000 prize in the March 19 drawing, according to the lottery.
Georgia winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, per the lottery’s website.
Blairsville is about a 100-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
