A castle in Cleveland has a Rapunzel tower — and it’s affordable. See inside
When people picture castles on the real estate market, they may conjure up glossy images of the Disney persuasion that have hefty price tags attached to them – like this $1.47 million Mississippi castle or this California “wish castle” that was listed for $9.2 million.
However, a castle in Cleveland, Ohio, is the embodiment of having champagne taste on a beer budget.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence looks like a castle both outside and inside and is listed for only $249,900.
But be warned: It’s a bit of a fixer-upper.
“Own your own CASTLE in Cleveland,” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Original features include hardwood floors throughout, massive hearth, raised panel walls, exquisite leaded and stained-glass windows, Rapunzel tower, and so much more.”
While all of that sounds appealing, a new owner would most likely have to put a ton of money into fixing up the 2,378-square-foot home since it’s being “sold as-is,” the listing points out.
The castle’s aesthetic appeal managed to turn heads of fans on the popular real estate social media page Zillow Gone Wild, who were also wowed by the affordability of the property.
“How is a castle only $250K??” one person asked. “What is going on in Cleveland??”
“This would be an amazing wedding venue,” another said.
“I was envisioning a very tacky interior and I was pleasantly surprised,” someone mentioned. “The woodwork is pretty nice.”
“Sorry. No moat. No suit of armor. Not a castle,” one person joked.
“’Duke of Cleveland’ has a nice ring to it,” another mentioned.
“Guests would be required to have sword fights with me,” someone tweeted.
“I NEED TO BUY THIS,” another said. “I can afford a castle. I would never stop taking pics in front of this.”
“Average Browns fan’s house,” one person joked.
