Cheese dip fans, rejoice! Chipotle is bringing Queso Blanco to restaurants nationwide

It’s out with the old and in with the new.

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced Wednesday that there’s a new cheese dip in town: Queso Blanco.

The white cheese dip — featuring Monterey Jack and white cheddar cheeses and serrano, poblano and chipotle peppers — will be available in Chipotle restaurants nationwide starting Thursday, according to a news release.

Queso Blanco will also replace Chipotle’s current cheese dip.

The new menu item was a hit when it was tested in 52 restaurants across Dallas, Detroit and San Diego in 2019, the release said.

“Feedback on Queso Blanco in the test markets exceeded our expectations and it quickly became clear that we needed to give all of our guests access to this delicious queso,” Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt said in the release. “Our culinary team perfected a recipe of real, responsibly sourced ingredients, helping to advance our mission of Cultivating a Better World.”

Ingredients for Queso Blanco are made from dairy sourced from small to mid-size family farms in Wisconsin, the company said in the release.

To continue supporting smaller farming operations, Chipotle announced that farmers can apply for one of 50 $5,000 grants as well as a one-year membership to the National Young Farmers Coalition from Chipotle and the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, the company said.

Applications are due by March 29. Click here for more information.
