Davie bank robber found at a Miami-Dade County warehouse. Here’s how cops tracked him

A bank robber’s plans were reportedly foiled by a GPS hidden inside his bag of cash.

The man robbed the TD Bank, 5943 Stirling Rd. in Davie early Monday, according to the FBI.

News stations reported that the man gave a teller a written bomb threat before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.

The bank was evacuated while the Broward Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad investigated, according to Local 10.

Police said they used the GPS that was placed inside the bag to track him as he drove out of Broward County and into Miami-Dade County, according to NBC6.

He was later found and arrested shortly before 11 a.m. at a warehouse in the 17800 block of North Miami Court, according to the FBI.

A black car was also found in the area and is believed to be the suspect’s getaway vehicle, said an FBI spokesman.

Various agencies are assisting the FBI in the investigation.

No other information, including the suspect’s identity, have been released.
