15-year-old Miami girl missing from East Little Havana has been found, police say

WEDNESDAY MORNING UPDATE: “Andrea has been safety recovered,” Miami police Tweeted at 7:20 a.m.

Andrea Ortiz, 15, left her Little Havana home Sunday morning without saying anything to her parents. She never returned home.

On Monday, police reached out for the community’s help in finding the teen, who was last seen around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Southwest 10th Avenue in Little Havana.

Ana Suazo, Andrea’s mother, said Monday night that she had received a text earlier in the evening from Andrea’s phone, but it didn’t sound like it was her daughter talking. The message said: “Mom, I am good.” Then the phone went off again.

“She doesn’t talk like that,” her stepfather, Jose Flores, said. Flores added that Andrea had never disappeared before.
