A kangaroo was on the streets of Fort Lauderdale Thursday morning

A kangaroo made an appearance on the streets of Fort Lauderdale on Thursday morning.

The animal hopped around the area of Northeast 13th Street and Second Avenue until officers from Fort Lauderdale police’s District 2 made the collar. Officers turned the kangaroo over to the South Florida Wildlife Center.

No word yet on the kangaroo’s origins. This is a developing story and will be updated as more is learned.
