Sunday afternoon emergency water main repairs triggered a precautionary boil water notice starting around 2 p.m. for several streets in Fort Lauderdale’s Rio Vista area.

Places affected are in the areas of Cordova Road, Southeast Seventh Street, Southeast Eighth Street and Southeast Ninth Street. People in those areas should bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, ice, cooking, brushing teeth or washing dishes.

The order will be in effect until the tap water passes two days of tests.

Those with questions can call 954-828-8000 or check Fort Lauderdale’s FAQ page about boil water notices.
