Two Whole Foods Market workers have been infected with the novel coronavirus

Two workers at Whole Foods Market in Fort Lauderdale have tested positive for COVID-19, the chain confirmed by email Tuesday morning.

The store, 2000 N. Federal Hwy., underwent “an additional cleaning and disinfection, on top of our current enhanced sanitation measures,” Whole Foods said.

Both employees are in quarantine.

As many chains have, Whole Foods has cut its hours — this location is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 a.m. for customers over 60 — and now has “social distancing guidelines” for safer shopping.

Whole Foods joins Publix and Trader Joe’s in grocery chains that have had employees test positive in the coronavirus pandemic.
