This Miami house set the stage for a hit Telemundo telenovela. It’s yours for $7M
Miami’s trendy Upper East Side has another luxury listing. In its 71 years, this waterfront residence in the MiMo District once hosted photo shoots and a Telemundo hit series.
Retired schoolteacher Jere Miles and his wife, Dr. Jean Miles, have listed their single-family home at 7351 Belle Meade for $7.325 million, according to co-listing agent Douglas Elliman Realtor Richard Santiago. Santiago and Douglas Elliman Realtor Filippo Incorvaia are both representing the sellers. Located in a gated community, the single-story house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a Tiki bar and pool. It overlooks Biscayne Bay and Bird Key, a barrier island and sanctuary.
The Art Deco residence landed in the pages of Glamour during the 1990s for a photo shoot, said Santiago, and in the Telemundo telenovela “Dueños Del Paraíso” telenovela starring Kate del Castillo. The hit series inspired by drug trades in Miami during the 1970s exceeded ratings for another Telemundo series “La Reina del Sur,” the inspiration for Queen of the South. Telemundo featured the house several times throughout the series since it was the home of leading character Érica San Miguel, played by Ximena Duque.
It was also the home of Thomas Palmer, the developer behind the residence as well as four other Belle Meade houses.
“If you tear down this house, which is most likely what’s going to happen,” Santiago said, “you can build a $16M house.”
The Miles couple bought the house for $450,000 in 1995, according to property records. Santiago said they are looking to downsize and move to Miami Shores, finding the upkeep of the waterfront house to be overwhelming.
Belle Meade attracts well-known locals. Restaurateur Steven Perricone once lived in the community. Televisa Studios President Patricio Wills and his wife, Adriana Santos, have lived in the neighborhood since late last year.
