South Florida real estate calendar for the week of June 15

The pandemic takes a back seat this week on most agendas. Webinars are dedicated to condo associations, climate change and Opportunity Zones.

June 16

The Hollywood-based Eisinger Law will hold the free webinar “Virtual condominium and HOA Board Certification” in Spanish from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lawyers Alessandra Stivelman and Carolina Sznajderman Sheir will review recent legislative changes affecting condo associations. Stivelman and Sheir will also discuss condo association management during the pandemic. RSVP here.

June 17

The D.C.-based nonprofit Urban Land Institute will host the webinar “The Climate Savvy Investor: Assessing Resilience in U.S. Markets” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The speakers will discuss how climate change is impacting real estate investors and how cities are preparing resiliency plans through economic modeling. Panelists include ULI Vice President of Urban Resilience Katharine Burgess, Laura Craft of the Chicago-based real estate investment firm Heitman, Nancy Watkins of the San Francisco-based Milliman consulting company and Deborah Ng, investing director at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. The San Jose-headquartered FinTech company NES Finacial will host the free talk “Navigating a new era in Opportunity Zones” from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Talking points include regulatory changes and Opportunity Zone market data through the second quarter 2020. There are five speakers: NES Financial Chief Revenue Officer and Managing Director Reid Thomas, Economic Innovation Group Director of Impact Strategy Rachel Reilly, Four Points Funding Partner Chris Montgomery, JTC Group Head of the Americas Emilio Miguel and Urban Catalyst Founder Erik Hayden.
