Real estate webinars for the week of Apr. 20

Real estate webinars this week highlight the retail and residential market, and how volunteering may boost business activity during uncertain economic times.

April 20

The Irvine-based financial services company CoreLogic will host the free webinar “Strategic agility: in uncertain times: real estate & rental” from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. CoreLogic chief economist Frank Nothaft will discuss predictions of how the coronavirus will effect the residential inventory across North America, lending risks and a worsening economic outlook combined with historically low interest rates and uncertain consumer confidence. Score Miami-Dade, a national non-profit partnered with the U.S. small business administration, will host the free webinar “How volunteering can help small businesses grow in your community” from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Score Chief Executive Officer Bridget Weston and D.C. district director Ed Coleman will lead the discussion. The D.C.-based nonprofit Urban Land Institute will host the free virtual discussion “Confronting COVID-19: Everything you need to know about healthy buildings Q&A session” from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. The speakers Dr. Joseph G. Allen, an assistant professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard finance lecturer John Macomber and Urban Land Institute Senior Vice President Rachel MacCleery will discuss how indoor space promotes productivity. RSVP here.

RE|source Miami hosts a discussion with five Miami real estate veterans for Lessons from the Past, a panel exploring what we learned from the Great Recession and how those strategies apply to the current crisis. Hear from Al Dotson Jr., managing partner, Bilzin Sumberg law firm; Related Group Vice Chairman Adolfo Henriques; Moss Construction President Scott Moss; Masoud Shojaee, president and chairman of The Shoma Group and Judy Zeder, Realtor-sssociate with the JillsZeder Group. The nonprofit Commercial Real Estate Women Miami, or CREW Miami, will host the free webinar “COVID-19 survival tools for the CRE Industry” from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Speakers include Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Alfred Sanchez, Polsinelli shareholder James Barnett, Ocean Bank Senior Vice President and Private Client Services Manager Gladys Reed and CBRE Vice President Carol Ellis-Cutler. The New York-based company Bisnow Media, a digital media company focused on commercial real estate, will host the free webinar “Protecting your retail assets” from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Developer Robert Finvarb, founder of Bay Harbor Islands-based Robert Finvarb Companies, and Dacra Chief Operating Officer Steven Gretenstein will discuss how landlords and tenants are collaborating on rent, how landlords are supporting restaurants and predictions of the significance of e-commerce.
