Real estate webinars replace real estate events in the age of COVID-19
Real estate organizations are scheduling webinars to replace live events upended by coronavirus. Here are virtual events schedule for this week:
Mar. 24
▪ The D.C.-based nonprofit Urban Land Institute will host the free webinar “Slowing the spread of COVID-19 social distancing and buildings” from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Four speakers will talk building management and operational strategies, including hand washing and social distancing. Urban Land Institute Senior Vice President Rachel MacCleery will moderate the discussion. Speakers include University of Texas Houston Health School of Public Health Associate Professor Catherine Troisi, Susan Bazak of Bazak Consulting, and Whitney Austin Gray of the New York-based International Well Building Institute, a research company established in 2014 with the purpose of implementing health and wellness strategies for multifamily projects. ▪ Miami Trainers, a division of Miami Association of Realtors, will host the free webinar “Working with buyers and sellers — Miami Marketing Tools Part One” from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The speakers will discuss online tools offering financial information, eProperty Watch which allows real estate agents to maintain potential buyers updated with current listings, and the insurance quotes program Surfina. ▪ The Chicago-based insurance brokerage company Hub International will host the free webinar “Managing your business through the Coronavirus crisis” from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The discussion is tailored for business owners and executives seeking tips during the pandemic. Representatives from Hub International will discuss business continuity plans, insurance coverage, employee benefits and employee legal compliance. RSVP here.

▪ The Urban Land Institute will host the webinar “Financial analysis for development: A practical introduction” from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The discussion will focus on the feasibility of mid-size multifamily projects including land cost per unit, rough net rental income, debt service and the market value of a rental project. David Farmer of Naples-based Keystone Development Advisors will host the discussion and provide materials. Tickets range from $395 to $465.
