The fashion designer behind BCBGMAXAZRIA lists her Fisher Island home for $5.9M

One of the creators behind the fashion brand BCBGMAXAZRIA has listed her four-bedroom Fisher Island condo for $5.9 million.

At $1,019 per square foot, 5363 Fisher Island Dr. is a relative bargain by Fisher Island standards.

The seller, Lubov Azria — Azria founded the BCBGMAXAZRIA Group with her late husband Max — listed the 5,790-square-foot apartment on the sixth floor with a view of downtown Miami Thursday. It has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, two terraces and a movie theater.

Azria and her husband purchased the unit in 2005 for about $3.4 million. Jill Eber of the Jills Zeder Group, affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, is the listing agent.

The home, priced at $1,019 per square foot, is less expensive than the most recent comparable sale. In August, a 6,500-square-foot unit at 4911 Fisher Island Dr. sold for about $1,242 per square foot. On Monday, Formula One driver Enrique Bernoldi listed his three-bedroom unit for $6.95 million, or $1,832 per square foot. The overall average on the private island is $1,600 per square foot.

“They wanted to price it to sell it,” Jill Eber said. “It’s priced very competitively.”

Buyers are still looking at the older buildings despite the island receiving the recently completed, amenity-packed sister buildings Palazzo Della Luna and Palazzo Del Sol, Eber said.

“Buyers are always looking for opportunities. The newer buildings are selling at a higher price per square foot,” Eber said.

The unit offers exclusive amenities not available in Fisher Island’s newer buildings, including two golf cart spaces — the transportation of choice for many residents on the island, three car parking spaces and a storage unit. The new inventory with similar square footage usually offers only one golf cart space.

Azria and her husband used the unit as a vacation home years ago, and Azria now rarely visits the Magic City. She is not currently looking to buy elsewhere in South Florida, Eber said.
