A Formula One race car driver listed his Fisher Island home for $6.95M
The professional race car driver Enrique Bernoldi is exiting Fisher Island after buying a unit just two years ago.
Bernoldi, an Arrows Formula One driver in 2001 and 2002, listed his 3,793-square-foot primary residence for $6.95 million at Palazzo Del Sol on Monday. He purchased the three-bedroom, three-bathroom and one half-bath unit at 7042 Fisher Island Dr. for $6.5 million, or about $1,713 per square foot, in 2017. Jill Eber and Jill Hertzberg of the Jills Zeder Group, affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, are the listing agents.
Bernoldi and his family are moving out of state for an undisclosed reason, according to Eber.
The unit is listed at $1,832 per square foot, less than the most recent comparable sale. The 3,793-square-foot 7075 Fisher Island Dr., also at Palazzo Del Sol, sold for about $2,004 per square foot in April.
“He is a competitive seller,” Eber said.
There are several selling points, Eber said. The unit is ideal for a young couple or family to use as their primary residence or as a vacation home, she said, given an abundance of amenities exclusive to the building and more services on the island.
Palazzo Del Sol, one of two new constructions on the island, offers a fitness center, cardio room, massage rooms, hair and makeup salon, movie theater, conference area and children’s playroom. Some services, including the valet parking with optional self-parking, concierge and butler-staffed aperitivo bar and lounge, are not provided in other older residential buildings on the island.
Other island amenities include a gourmet market, nine-hole golf course, two deep water marinas and seven restaurants. Fisher Island can only be reached by private ferry.
Despite the price point and amenities, Eber said, “it’s hard to say how long it will take to sell because you still have to find the right buyer.”
The completion of Palazzo Del Sol in 2016 and Palazzo Della Luna in 2019 pumped inventory onto Fisher Island after it went over a decade without new construction.
The island reached another milestone. In early December, residents celebrated the centennial anniversary of when Carl Fisher bought the island and converted it into a getaway for the rich in 1919.
